We visited Puppy & Flow in Westwood for a morning of yoga, puppy cuddles and some of the most heartwarming moments we have had in Los Angeles. Spoiler: the puppies are absolutely the main event.
There are a lot of ways to spend a morning in Los Angeles. You can hike Runyon Canyon, grab a table at a Brentwood brunch spot, or join the weekend crowd at the farmers market in Santa Monica. All of those are good options. But none of them involve a room full of puppies climbing onto your yoga mat.
We recently visited Puppy & Flow in Westwood, and we will be honest with you: we were not there for the yoga. We were there for the puppies. And the puppies delivered.
What Is Puppy & Flow?
Puppy & Flow is located in Westwood, on the Westside of Los Angeles, and the concept is exactly what it sounds like. You show up, you do a guided yoga session, and puppies are part of the experience. They wander around the room, climb onto mats, curl up next to people and generally do whatever puppies do when they are surrounded by a group of people who are very happy to see them.
The yoga itself is approachable. You do not need to be an experienced yogi or someone who takes their practice seriously. The session is guided and relaxed, and the atmosphere is warm and casual. If you have never done yoga before, or if yoga is simply not your thing, that is completely fine. The puppies have a way of making the whole experience feel easy.
The puppies are the real stars. They wander freely throughout the session, and they are not shy about it. They will find you.
Come for the Yoga, Stay for the Puppies
At some point during the session, the yoga becomes secondary. That is not a criticism. It is simply what happens when there are puppies involved.
There is time to sit with them, hold them, take photos and just be present with them. The experience is sweet and genuinely relaxing in a way that has nothing to do with stretching. It is the kind of morning that puts you in a good mood for the rest of the day.
For anyone who is not particularly interested in yoga, this is still a wonderful experience. Come for the puppies. Enjoy the yoga as a bonus. Either way, you will leave feeling better than when you arrived.
The puppies are small, soft and completely irresistible. We are not going to pretend otherwise.
A Fun Los Angeles Experience for Locals and Visitors
Puppy & Flow works for both people who live in Los Angeles and travelers who are visiting the city.
For locals, it is a genuinely fun weekend activity. It works as a girls' day, a birthday outing, a date, or simply something different to do on a Saturday morning when you want to get out of the house and do something that feels a little more memorable than brunch.
For visitors, it is a fun alternative to the standard Los Angeles sightseeing itinerary. If you have already done Griffith Observatory and the Getty, or if you are looking for something a little more personal and a little less crowded, Puppy & Flow is worth adding to your plans.
The Westwood location is convenient to a lot of the Westside. Beverly Hills, Century City, Brentwood and Santa Monica are all nearby, which makes it easy to build a full day around the experience. A morning at Puppy & Flow followed by lunch in Beverly Hills is a very good way to spend a day in Los Angeles.
Our Take
We had a genuinely wonderful time. The yoga was great! The puppies were extraordinary.
At a certain point we stopped thinking about the session and just sat down on the mat and let the puppies come to us. That was the best part. No agenda, no schedule, just a room full of puppies doing what puppies do.
It is playful, adorable, heartwarming and an instant mood booster. If you love puppies, this is an experience worth adding to your Los Angeles plans. We would go back without hesitation.
